Entre prácticas agotadoras y millas corriendo, el joven boxeador trabaja en formar la disciplina y la resistencia. Armando Arredondo, de 9 años, se entrena para pelear en el torneo Junior Olympic el 26 de Julio en Dallas, Texas.
Rodney Gillespie ha entrenado a Arredondo desde que tenía cuatro años. Cuando el niño energético conoció a Gillespie, jugaba otros deportes. Después de aprender a boxear, descubrió que era algo natural en este deporte.
Como Arredondo, Gillespie comenzó boxeando cuando era joven. En su adolescencia sufría acoso de otros chicos, lo cual lo inspiró a aprender a boxear. Ahora es el dueño del gimnasio Gillespie's en Conway, Arkansas.

Young Boxer Represents Arkansas in National Tournament
Through grueling practices and miles of running, the young boxer works on building discipline and endurance. Nine-year-old Armando Arredondo trains his hardest this summer to prepare for the Junior Olympic tournament on June 26 in Dallas, Texas.
Rodney Gillespie has been training Arredondo since he was four-years-old. When the energetic kid first met Gillespie, he played other sports. After learning the basics, he discovered he was a natural at boxing.
Like Arredondo, Gillespie began boxing at an early age. As a kid, he experienced bullying, which inspired him to learn to box. He is now the owner of Gillespie's gym in Conway.
Through their work together, the two have had many successes, such as Arredondo winning the Silver Gloves in both 2015 and 2016 in the 70-pound, nine-year-old division . Expert Gillespie continues refining Arredondo's skills as the young boxer goes on to fight in Dallas this month.
